As the news circulated online, fans began to remember Hussle’s influence and music.

“Very well deserved, I wish he could see this in person.”

“Should have gotten it while he was alive.”

“I really hate that he’s not here, man!”

“I’m glad the marathon continues.”

“It’s still on top‼️ He was and his foundation is still doing great things in the community, his legacy inspires and his music is still a commodity!!!”

As excited as fans seemed to be, a few raised questions about how Hussle received such an honor posthumously compared to artists who have been around for decades.

One person said: “As much as I loved hearing about his community work and definitely agree that he deserves recognition, I disagree. There’s fake love because he passed, and that’s strange.

Another wrote, “They would never have given him one if he hadn’t been killed and that’s all I’ll say.” A third person forcefully said, “Praying to his family for his early death…but he’s doing nothing.” to get a star.”

Hussle was honored earlier this month after a tube station in the area where he grew up was named after him. According to CBS Los Angeles, the station is located at “Nipsey Hussle Square” and will operate along the Hyde Park Line, which stops in Los Angeles and Inglewood.

In July, a Los Angeles County jury deliberated for six hours before the defendant Eric Holder was found guilty of first degree murder. He was a former employee who shot the victim at least 10 times before reportedly kicking him in the head. During the trial, officers listened to testimony from eyewitnesses including Bryannita Nicholson, who was driving the getaway car during the March 31, 2019 incident. Holder was also found guilty of possession of a firearm as a felon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter, as two bystanders were injured in the shooting. During his sentencing on September 15, he faces life behind bars.
