Nicolas Cage shares Adam West’s funny reaction to his impression of him on KICK-ASS – GeekTyrant

There are many things I liked about the director Matthew Vaughn‘s great movie and Nicholas Cage like Big Daddy was one of them. I loved the fact that his version of the character was inspired by that Adam West‘s Batman, and I thought Cage’s impression was a lot of fun!

You know who wasn’t impressed with his impression? Adam West. Cage recently hosted an Ask Me Anything on Reddit to promote his upcoming film The unbearable weight of massive talent. There he shared a story about meeting West and his reaction to his impression.

Cage was askedOne of your most fascinating performances for me was as Big Daddy in great. Was Adam West the biggest inspiration for your superhero persona while working on this performance, or were there other sources you felt you drew more from? Thanks and have a nice day!”

Cage replied: “I would give Adam West anything. I grew up with him in the 60’s Batman Show and he’s where it begins and where it ends as Big Daddy. I met Adam West once and said, ‘Did you see that I was channeling you?’ and he said, ‘I saw you trying to channel me!’”

This seems to be such a playful and fun Adam West thing! I’m sure when he said that to Cage he said it with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes.

For those of you who would like a reminder of Cage Adam’s West Batman impression greatenjoy the clip!
