No one was happier when the Boston Celtics reached the NBA Finals than actress Nia Long, head coach Ime Udoka’s fiancee.
It’s been a long journey for them Boston Celtics since they lost Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals to the Los Angeles Lakers. They failed to make the series to compete for the Larry O’Brien Trophy. But that all changed on Sunday when the Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 100-96 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals to advance to the NBA Finals.
While there were undoubtedly plenty of Celtics fans celebrating Sunday night, perhaps there was no one happier the team moved forward than actress Nia Long, based on her latest video posted to Twitter.
For those who don’t know, Long is engaged to Boston head coach Ime Udoka.

Long has been engaged to Udoka since 2015 and the couple have a son, Kez Sunday, who was born in 2011.
Udoka had spent nearly 10 years as an assistant coach in the NBA, most of them on the coaching staff of Gregg Popovich at the San Antonio Spurs. But after spending last season as an assistant with the Brooklyn Nets, Udoka was hired as the Celtics’ head coach, and what a season it was.
After a slow start to the campaign, Boston rebounded in the second half to finish with a 51-31 record. In the playoffs, Boston swept the nets in the first round, eliminated defending NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks in seven games, and sent home the top-seeded Heat in the Conference Finals.
Now the Celtics face off against the Golden State Warriors, who have made it to the NBA Finals six times in the past eight seasons. If Udoka and the Celtics won, they would take home their 18th NBA championship.
