NHL announces 2022 All-Star roster, Last Men In picks ahead of February 5 game in Las Vegas

COVID-19 has ended most of the NHL’s season, but the league rallied before the 2022 NHL All-Star game. The NHL announced its four division roster on Thursday and introduced the 2022 NHL All-Star Last Men In, a system for fans Select the final players of the team.

Captains, at the discretion of NHL All-star fan vote, is Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (Atlantic), Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon (Center), Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin (Metropolitan) and Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (Pacific).

Andrew Brunette (Florida Panthers, Atlantic Division), Jared Bednar (Colorado Avalanche, Central Division), Rod Brind’Amour (Hurricane Carolina, Metropolitan Division), and Peter DeBoer (Vegas Golden Knights, Pacific Division) are expected to coach after leading their teams to the highest percentages of points in their respective divisions through January 10.

Fans can vote for up to four players from a list of 32 – one from every team – and the person with the most votes will receive an All-Star nod.
