With the 2022 regular season starting this week, we’re bringing back the NFL quarterback rankings. And to start, Aaron Rodgers is at the top of the leaderboard.
Our 2022 FanSided NFL Quarterback Rankings are live every Tuesday morning throughout the regular season, and we use a sliding scale that takes into account current and past performance, with the former becoming more important as the year progresses.
QB Seattle Seahawks
Statistics 2021: 702 meters | 68.4 comp% | 5 TD | 1 INT | 7.4 YPA | 45.8QBR
The Seahawks just fought one of the saddest quarterback fights in NFL history, and Smith is the winner. It’s going to be a long year in Seattle.
QB New York Jets

Flacco fills in for Zach Wilson until he comes back from a sprained knee. The Jets hope Flacco can be operational by the time Wilson begins his second season.
QB Atlanta Falcons

Mariota reunites with Arthur Smith, who was his offensive coordinator in Tennessee. Realistically, Atlanta is in a rebuilding year, and Mariota will take lumps.

How long will Trubisky keep the job? Kenny Pickett was good preseason and with a tough schedule early on, the rookie could soon get the nod.
QB Cleveland Browns

Without Deshaun Watson in the first 11 games of the season, the Browns are trying to stay afloat. Brissett has to manage the game and hand it over to Nick Chubb.

That’s it for Jones. He either starts playing winning football under first-year head coach Brian Daboll, or he picks up a change of address form in January.
QB Chicago Bears

Fields has talent, but the bears around him are brutal in every way. It’s very difficult to see Fields putting up big numbers even when he’s improving.
QB San Francisco 49ers

Lance takes on a Super Bowl contender with elite weapons. The question is how quickly he will reach his potential.

Tagovailoa is the player under the most pressure in 2022. He’s now surrounded by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, an improved offensive line and enough expectations to last a lifetime.
QB Saints of New Orleans

Winston was playing really well in New Orleans before suffering a season-ending cruciate ligament tear in October. The Saints have potential, but Winston needs to build on his good start in ’21.
QB Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence should have his rookie season removed from the record. His coach was Urban Meyer. Now he has an upgraded offense and a real coach.

Mayfield has another opportunity and faces a huge campaign with free agency looming. The stakes are high for both Mayfield and the Panthers.

Wentz is on his third team in as many years. It’s time to step up, be a leader and make some big throws.
QB Philly Eagles

Hurts and the Eagles are about to start. Philadelphia added AJ Brown on the outside, trying to take passing from mediocre to above average.

Ryan transitions from a terrible situation in Atlanta to a top-flight team in the Colts. Ryan will manage offense, often throwing at receiver Michael Pittman and passing a lot to Jonathan Taylor.
QB Arizona Cardinals

This has been a bizarre off-season for Murray. Instagram message, agent statement in all caps, new contract, homework clause. He also starts the year without the suspended DeAndre Hopkins.
QB Las Vegas robbers

Carr could have a career year. The Raiders have elite weapons in receivers Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow and tight end Darren Waller. If the line holds, watch out.
QB Baltimore Ravens

Jackson is trying to prove that he is undeniably an elite quarterback. Baltimore doesn’t make it easy with this receiving corps, but Jackson has the talent to improve it.

Prescott is dealing with a shaky offensive line and fewer guns. However, Dallas still has a dangerous offense and Prescott is considered one of the best under-center players in the league.

Wilson is getting a fresh start in Denver, and he’s got plenty of motivation, and many are wondering if he’s on the wane.
QB Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are trying to replicate it, and Stafford is at the center of that effort. Stafford can make any throw, and he has weapons galore to use.
QB Cincinnati Bengal

Burrow tries to return to the Super Bowl and this time win it. No team has more receivers than Cincinnati, which could make them the best passing attack in the league.
QB Chargers from Los Angeles

Herbert is under pressure. The Chargers need to get to the playoffs and maybe get through there. With a full roster, Herbert has a shot at glory.
QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

At 45, Brady remains one of the best in the league. However, there are growing concerns about Tampa Bay’s offensive line amid injuries. Can he keep his unprecedented career going?

The Bills are the Super Bowl favorites, thanks in large part to Allen’s skill. This could be an excellent year in Buffalo.
