Nexon continues to delve into NFT and blockchain gaming with MapleStory N and a MapleStory Universe ecosystem

Readers may recall that Nexon’s foray into crypto has performed as expected, with $40 million going nowhere in 2021 and sustained losses reported in last year’s fourth-quarter financial report. Even so, the company quiet burst into the scheme with the ruthless abandon of a rabid moose as it validated and explained a crypto and NFT gaming ecosystem it previously announced and was affiliated with MapleStory IP.

This initiative starts with MapleStory N, a new game that allows players to earn limited NFT rewards by completing quests and killing monsters in each zone. These NFTs are connected to the Polygon Etherium blockchain platform and will have “recognized and broader value” within Nexon’s MapleStory Universe NFT ecosystem, as NFTs will reportedly offer benefits and utilities in other titles within the “universe.” Incidentally, this means that Nexon promises additional NFT games related to the ecosystem, but offers no details beyond that.

As a rule, there is also not much information about it a really playable gamesince the vast majority of details focus on Nexon’s partnership with Polygon Labs, the story of MapleStory itself and Nexons declared excitement over its continued NFT ambitions. There isn’t even a release date for it MapleStory N; All we have is a hot wind from GDC.
