News about WWE’s long-term plans for Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar

WWE announced on Friday that Brock Lesnar will have a rematch with Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the Day 1 pay-per-view in Atlanta. However, that won’t be the end of the feud.

It was previously reported that the plan was for Reigns to face Lesnar in a rematch at WrestleMania and that still seems to be the plan as their match on Day 1 is part of a series of matches.

Dave Meltzer reported the following today: “About Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar is the main event of Day One, it is planned to be a multi-match series and it is one of the matches in the series.”

Lesnar is also scheduled to be part of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. If WWE puts Lesnar in trouble again on Day 1 it could lead to Lesnar entering the Men’s Rumble match and winning to set up the final match of the series at WrestleMania.

At the time, Reigns broke the all-time record for consecutive days as the Universal Champion so he could lose the title to Lesnar at Mania.
