It’s pretty obvious that Deebo Samuel will be moving away from the San Francisco 49ers. He’s made it pretty clear at this point that he wants a trade statement and has said so publicly himself.
But the question that still remains is – where is he going? Or which teams are interested in getting him. According to recent reports, three teams are interested in hiring Deebo Samuel’s services, including the Green Bay Packers, the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets.
Will the New York Jets succeed in getting Deebo Samuel?
The New York Jets intensify their efforts to acquire Deebo Samuel. A rumor floating around right now says the Jets may be tempted to give away their number 10 ahead of the 2022 NFL draft to get Deebo Samuel.
Previously, the New York Jets offered the Nos. 35 and 38 and their No. 69 third-round pick for Kansas City boss Tyreek Hill, who eventually ended up with the Miami Dolphins. In return, he also asked for the Chiefs’ No. 103 pick. The Jets can now offer their No. 10 for Deebo Samuel, according to Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline.
“Hill is two years older than Deebo. Also, pick #10 is slightly more valuable than 35, 38, and 69 according to the various NFL draft trade value charts. The Jets attempted to acquire Hill and failed a month ago. To make sure they don’t miss out on a player like Deebo, this time it would be to make the 49ers an offer they can’t refuse.” he said.
“Would the Niners say no to a top 10 pick? That’s unlikely. John Lynch will hold his preliminary draft press conference on Monday, although I doubt he will reveal any of the team’s plans.”
“When the 49ers feel like they’re at a point of no return and know that a team like the Jets is desperate for an established playmaker, I doubt they would say no to such a valuable pick. I’ll keep saying this: there isn’t a player the Niners will draft that repeats what Deebo did in 2021. I’m not sure that Samuel himself will pull off a similar season to the one we just saw. He was the 49ers offense.”
