New poster for THE NORTHMAN and Ethan Hawke talks Viking Acid with Willem Dafoe — GeekTyrant

director Robert EggerThe Northman is one of my most anticipated films of the year. Eggers is an insanely talented filmmaker and it looks like he’s made an epically badass Viking movie!

We have a new poster for the film to share with you today, and during a recent interview with GQ, one of the film’s stars, Ethan Hawketalked about working with Dafoe on The Northman and shared some information about a scene they shared and it was about Viking Acid:

“It’s like you’ve found an epic 700 year old Viking poem and brought it to life. We have an amazing scene. We undress and do some sort of Viking acid and howl at the moon together. And oh my god when you gotta get naked and howl at the moon is a great person to do that with.”

Yes, that sounds like a good time! The Northman Set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century, the story explores how far a Viking prince will go to avenge his murdered father. It doesn’t hold back on blood and gore either. Speaking earlier about making the film, Eggers said:

“When I first thought, ‘I want to do a Viking film,’ I knew three things. I knew it had to take place mainly in Iceland, it had to have a revenge story and there had to be a naked sword fight Vulcan…”

The Northman also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor Joy, Bjorkand Ralph Ineson. It hits theaters on April 22nd.
