New Gamecocks QB Spencer Rattler signs NIL deal

New South Carolina Gamecocks winger Spencer Rattler has signed a new NIL contract.

After two years with the Oklahoma Sooners, winger Spencer Rattler announced he would join the transfer portal. Soon after, he revealed that he would transferred to the South Carolina Gamecocks and head coach Shane Beamer. A few months after the transfer, Rattler has a new name image and a similar transaction (NIL).

Jim Hudson Chevrolet of Columbia, SC announced that it has contracted Rattler with new NILs, including a new Silverado pickup truck. Rattler confirmed the news on his Twitter account.

This isn’t Rattler’s first NIL deal with an auto dealership. Back in September Rattler signs contract with Fowler Motor Corporation gave him a choice of two means.

Rattler entered the 2021 season with Oklahoma, where he was considered one of the top promising defenders in the 2022 NFL Draft. Things didn’t go that way, however, when he was replaced. midway through the campaign for Caleb Williams.

In nine games with the Sooners, Rattler threw 1,483 yards, 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions while completing 74.9% of his passes.

It’s been an eventful year not just for Rattler, but for the Oklahoma football program as well. Head coach Lincoln Riley has left after their regular season finale to become the new sideline boss for USC Trojan. Williams replaced Rattler as the Sooners’ starting midfield, then moved on to USC.

Rattler looks set to return for his new season, which will be his first as a member of the Gamecocks.
