New Extraction 2 Trailer Shows Idris Elba Reuniting With Chris Hemsworth
Buckle up, extraction 2 is a welcome addition to what is already meant to be a descent into hell. Netflix has announced that it’s adding another mammoth name — and an epic accent Chris Hemsworth-led action spectacle in the form of a very British Idris Elba.
The second part of Russo brothersIn the hugely popular film, Hemsworth returns from death’s fringes as powerful black ops mercenary Tyler Rake on a suitably deadly mission to save a family from the clutches of a Georgian gangster. Cue Elba’s appearance as the mysterious man in the suit. He is the man who entrusts Rake with his near-impossible mission. For what reason is not known at this time. Viewers got their first glimpse of Elba’s enigmatic character in a new teaser for the upcoming film.
The new clip starts right in the middle of the action with Rake at the wheel of a four-wheeler and a precious cargo in the backseat in the form of a group of former children. Rake’s vehicle speeds ahead, being pursued by a legion of cars behind him as he narrowly dodges endless gunfire and calls for more help. Featuring the truly breathtaking action sequences that the Russo brothers are known for, the shot transitions seamlessly from the endless stream of attackers on Rake’s back to the mess of kids in the back seat hugging each other for protection. Rake portrays himself as the perfect blend of action hero and father figure, pulling the children into his arms as the chase continues on foot. The teaser then quickly evolves into a buttery smooth compilation of Rake’s heroic antics as he defeats enemy after enemy and keeps flying past the lips of death against all odds, with voiceover touting his status as a “legend” what eventually leading to the moment when Rake appears face to face with the man in the suit. Then he stood with one in front of him Luther-esque polished appearance, then Elba explains with a grimacing face: “I have to say, mate, you live up to the hype. Rake, that’s such a funny name.” Of course, the film ends on a cliffhanger, but there’s no indication as to what Elba’s character wants or what benefit he might get by sending Rake on a mission that he basically does is not meant Survive. Which begs the question: What if he was behind Rake’s first deadly expedition and never wanted him to survive? If so, could he be linked to Rake’s past? We will see.
The new extraction 2 The teaser only adds to the excitement for the awesomeness of the film’s upcoming action sequences, with a 21-minute sequence being the most talked about by far. The teaser and promotional material not only take the action to new heights, but also show more clearly that audiences will finally get a long-awaited taste for the rake behind the one-man army exterior. There are still many unanswered questions about the life he led before his mercenary identity and why he fought his way back from the depths of the ocean – as hinted at in the film’s earlier teasers. With an action-fest on the table and a superstar cast at the helm, extraction 2 is undoubtedly developing into the battle expectations.
