Neverwinter invites you to comfort Doggos during the Lantern Festival dazzled by fireworks

If you’re not tired of bunnies invading MMOs – and really, I don’t think I ever will be, bunnies are great – then cock your eyeballs Never winterwhere the Lunar New Year event known as the Lantern Festival returns for the holiday.

There’s a free gift to log in, fireworks, the traditional red envelope quests, and even a quest to comfort virtual dogs that are upset about all the fireworks. One might wonder if it wouldn’t be easier not to set off the fireworks at all, but then you wouldn’t have to do cute puppy video game quests right now, would you?

“It’s the year of the rabbit! Envoys from Shou and Kozakura have arrived at Lord Neverember’s invitation and wish to share their traditional New Year celebrations with the citizens of Neverwinter!” Cryptic says. “Adventurers have the opportunity to celebrate the Lunar New Year and earn event currency (Rabbit Coins and Lunar Coins) by helping out at the festival. In addition to the Lunar Coin packs, which contain event currency, items like hairstyles, the katana-wielding Yojimbo pet, and rewards from the previous year are back on the ZEN Market for a limited time during the celebration.”

The event begins Thursday morning and runs through January 26th.
