Netflix Tudum India presents “Khufiya”, “Guns & Gulabs” and “Scoop”

The India leg of Netflix’s annual Tudum fan event featured several high-profile films and shows on Saturday, including Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya, starring Tabu, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s Guns & Gulaabs, starring Dulquer Salmaan, and Hansal Mehta’s Scoop. Tudum India was hosted by comedian Zakir Khan and actor Prajakta Koli.

Set in an expensive school in Delhi, Class is an adaptation of the hit Spanish series Elite. It stars Gurfateh Pirzada, Chintan Rachh, Naina Bhan, Chayan Chopra, Ciyawal, Anjali Sivarman, Madhyama Segal, Piyush Khati, Ayesha Kanga, Chandan Singh, Moses Koul and Zeyn Shaw.

For Guns & Gulaabs, starring Dulquer Salmaan, The Family Man creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are collaborating with Netflix to produce their first series for the streamer, following their indie film Cinema Bandi. The series is a crime thriller that presents love and innocence against a backdrop of crime, blending ’90s romance with humor.

Following the acclaimed Netflix series Ray, Vasan Bala returns with the dark comedy Monica, O My Darling starring Rajkummar Rao, Huma S. Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Sikander Kher, Bagavathi Perumal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Sukant Goel and Zayn Marie back Khan. In the film, a young man desperately tries to make it big with some unlikely allies and a diabolical plan to pull off the perfect murder.

Kicking off his Netflix directorial debut, acclaimed director Hansal Mehta (“Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story”) presents the series “Scoop,” adapted from journalist and crime reporter biographical book Jigna Vora, Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison,” which chronicles her experiences after being accused of murdering another reporter.

During the Tudum India event, writer-director Vishal Bhardwaj (‘Haider’) presented his spy thriller ‘Khufiya’, based on the book ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan, ex-Chief of India’s counterintelligence unit. Starring Tabu, Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film follows Krishna Mehra, a research and analysis wing associate, who is assigned a crucial mission that will require her to juggle her dual identities as a spy and a lover.

Introduced by a soup-sipping Manoj Bajpayee, “Soup” follows chef Swathi Shetty as she devises a master plan to replace her husband with her lover. But when a bumbling local inspector and a squad of vicious intruders get involved, her plans could be shattered before she knows it. Abhishek Chaubey (Ray) is directing Soup. Thriller stars Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde and Lal.

In “CAT,” a former police informant, played by Randeep Hooda, is forced to become an informant again to save his brother’s life, forcing him to confront his dark past. Directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, Rupinder Chahal and Jimmy Singh.

Set in the 1930s and late 1940s, “Qala” tells the story of the young singer of the same name. It’s about her tragic past and the way she catches up with it, leading to her falling apart at the height of her hard-won success. Directed by Anvitaa Dutt, it stars Triptii Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, Babil Khan and Amit Sial.

Starring Yami Gautam, Sunny Kaushal and Sharad Kelkar, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, directed by Ajay Singh, is the story of a flight attendant and her business partner on a quest to steal diamonds and break free from a loan shark. However, at 40,000 feet, the heist goes horribly wrong, turning into a hostage situation.

Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale follows the love story of South Indian superstar Nayanthara, who recently married filmmaker Vignesh Shivan in a fairytale wedding.

When a local politician’s coveted jackfruits (Kathals) go missing in “Kathal,” a bizarre case unfolds that falls into the lap of a young and serious police officer, played by Sanya Malhotra.

And finally, in an exclusive Tudum talk, Telugu-speaking cinema stars Rana Dagubbati and Venkatesh Daggubati, a real-life nephew-uncle couple, discussed what it was like to explore the father-son relationships on screen in “Rana Naidu” before its premiere one new teasers for the series.
