Ne-Yo claims he lost $400,000 in deals to cheating allegations by his estranged wife, Crystal Smith, and is seeking a gag order

After refusing to pay spousal support, Ne-Yo Smith is now asking a judge to issue a gag order to prevent his estranged wife, Crystal Renay Smith, from discussing their divorce. Smith filed for divorce in August, claiming the R&B singer fathered a child with another woman.

In new court filings obtained by Radar Online, Ne-Yo claims Crystal’s cheating allegations have impacted his career financially. He also objected to the way she characterized him in recent interviews with TMZ and the TV producer Carlos King. He believes her “reckless and obnoxious actions” are her way of gaining public sympathy.

The filing states that Ne-Yo “lost approximately $400,000 in salaries related to public appearances, professional bookings, and promotional efforts related to promoting his new music project.”

He wants to stop Crystal from further talking about her divorce on social media and remove previous statements she has shared about him.

As of September 13, Crystal has either removed or edited all negative posts about the “U 2 Luv” singer on Instagram, including a post captured by The Shade Room that he liked. She also removed all photos of the couples except for the family photos.

Back in July, Crystal shared a lengthy statement titled “8 Years,” in which she explained what she believes happened in their marriage, including his history of infidelity.

“8 years of lies and deceit. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous women who sell him their bodies unprotected,” she wrote. “Every single one of them! To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement.”

She continued, “To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist. I will no longer lie to the public or pretend this is something it is not. I choose myself, I choose my happiness and my health and my respect. I got 3 beautiful kids from it but nothing but wasted years and heartache.”

Despite their failed relationship, Crystal says she wishes the Grammy winner nothing but the best, adding, “I would ask you all not to send me any videos or information about his cheating because what he does is none of my business anymore… With no.” Hate in my heart, I wish him only the best.”

Ne-Yo and Crystal met and began dating in 2014 and married in 2016. The estranged couple announced their split in 2020, but eventually found love again with a vow renewal in April 2022. They share three children: two sons, Shaffer Shamere Jr., 6, Roman, 4, and their now 10-month-old daughter named Isabella. Ne-Yo also had a daughter, Madilyn, 11, and a son, Mason, 9, with his ex-fiancée Monyetta Shaw.
