Ndamukong Suh has no plans to return to the Buccaneers and it looks like he will publicly target the Raiders as a possible target.
At 35, Ndamukong Suh is not ready to hang up his boots. He’s also all but impossible to play for the Buccaneers again in 2022.
Where will he land next?
Las Vegas seems to be his preferred travel destination.
Ndamakong Suh said playing for the Raiders ‘might be fun’
“Raiders could be fun,” Suh commented on Adam Schefter’s tweet about the defenseman, who is likely to leave the Buccaneers on Tuesday.
Whether or not Vegas have a common interest in Suh is up for debate. USA Today’s Tyler Dragon reported that the “Raiders and Vikings have both had multiple discussions with free agent DT.”
However, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Josina Anderson of CBS Sports later told a different story.
Anderson reported that “the Raiders are not currently looking.”
Bonsignore echoed this with a tweet saying: “[Suh’s] Interest does not appear to be mutual.”
So what is it? Bonsignore is hooked into the robber and Anderson has good sources. The weight of their coverage of this one beats Dragon’s.
Of course, both linked their understanding to the current moment. Things are changing fast in the NFL, and Suh’s public interest could certainly open the door for conversations.
Suh exits a 2021 campaign with six sacks and 13 QB hits. While not the All-Pro player he was in the first half of his career, he has been consistently productive in recent years.
If the Raiders can afford it, the addition in the trenches could have a big impact. However, there should be serious competition for its services. If Las Vegas isn’t invested in the pursuit, don’t expect it to end in their favor.
