The Minnesota Timberwolves are back in the NBA playoffs. How well will they do? Can the Timberwolves survive the first round?
It’s 2022 and the Minnesota Timberwolves are back in the NBA Playoffs! The Timberwolves have generally not had much success in the playoffs over the years and are trying to get past one of the funnest teams the NBA has to offer this season: the Memphis Grizzlies.
The last time Minnesota even made the playoffs was in the 2017-2018 season. Unfortunately for this Timberwolves team, Minnesota didn’t even make it past the first round of the playoffs. Previously, the Timberwolves had not made the playoffs since the 2003-2004 season.
So, yes, any sort of success in the playoffs would likely be welcomed with open arms by Timberwolves fans.
The Timberwolves schedule looks like this:
Minnesota Timberwolves: 2022 NBA Playoff Schedule
The Timberwolves will take on the Grizzlies in the first round and that should be an intriguing series to keep up with. Games 1 and 2 will be held in Memphis while Games 3 and 4 are scheduled in Minneapolis.
Here’s Minnesota’s schedule for the first round of the series:
- Game 1: Saturday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. ET (in Memphis)
- Game 2: Tuesday, April 19 at TBD (in Memphis)
- Game 3: Thursday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET (in Minneapolis)
- Game 4: Sunday, April 24 at TBD (in Minneapolis)
- Game 5 (if necessary): open minded
- Game 6 (if necessary): open minded
- Game 7 (if necessary): open minded
It is not currently clear if Games 5 through 7 will be necessary and the NBA has not set a schedule for those games at this time. Should the games need to be played, Game 5 will be held in Memphis while Game 6 will be held in Minneapolis. Game 7 is scheduled for Memphis.
Though the Timberwolves haven’t made it to the second round of the NBA playoffs since 2004, there’s a chance they can make it past Memphis. If that actually happens, this will be updated with more information about their next opponent.
