Natasha Lyonne confirms split from Fred Armisen

Natasha Lyonne has confirmed her split from Fred Armisen, claiming the relationship ended over a disagreement over swimming pools.

After confirming to The Hollywood Reporter that she was living in Los Angeles with Armisen during the COVID pandemic, the actress revealed their paths have since parted.

“I honestly think we broke up because I wanted a swimming pool,” claimed the “Russian Doll” star, 43.

“We love each other about as much as two people can love each other and we still talk all the time, but Freddy doesn’t like a swimming pool. It might seem like a mundane reason to break up, but during this pandemic, you need to do your rounds — I’m like Burt Lancaster in ‘The Swimmer.’

Lyonne has since bought her own home — with a pool — in Los Angeles.

“So that’s the real scandal,” the Orange Is the New Black alum added jokingly. “I guess I’m finally a proper bicoastal.”

The actress and the Saturday Night Live alum, 55, were first linked in 2014 when they attended Lorne Michael’s pre-Emmys party at the Tower Bar of the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.

In a September 2019 Glamor cover story, Lyonne revealed that Armisen’s “SNL” co-star Maya Rudolph introduced the couple.

During a June 2016 appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Armisen admitted to being “a terrible husband” to his ex-wife Elisabeth Moss from 2009 to 2011.

He was also married to singer Sally Timms from 1998 to 2004.

Lyonne and Armisen were last seen together at the 2020 Golden Globes.
