Naoya Inoue Stops Aran Dipaen in Round 8, Wins WBA / IBF Bantamweight Title

Naoya Inoue can now look forward to the super fights he’s been craving for so long.

The three-time undefeated tennis player successfully defended her WBA and IBF bantamweight titles after a round of 16 knockout match against Aran Dipaen of Thailand. Inoue knocked out Dipaen midway through the eighth round, with a subsequent left hook forcing referee Michiaki Someya to stop Tuesday night’s match at Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo.

Inoue (22-0, 19KOs) defended the IBF bantamweight title for the fifth time overall and fourth as a unified boxer. His first match in Japan for Yokohama’s Inoue since his thrilling twelve-round win over Nonito Donaire in their November 2019 title unification match in Saitama, Japan.

Inoue-Dipaen is broadcast live on Pay-Per-View exclusively distributed by ABEMA TV.
