During a cordial conversation with The cut For the magazine’s May-June cover story, the caramel-hued beauty spoke candidly about the marriage and the lessons she’s learned from their long-term relationship.
As the interior designer celebrated her tenth wedding anniversary with the Los Angeles Lakers star this year, the mother-of-three was asked to share the valuable knowledge she’s picked up as a wife.
The question might have embarrassed others, but for the Home Court founder, marriage was a subject she wasn’t afraid to discuss. “I had a great idea of real marriage with my mom and dad,” Savannah began.
“There are ups and downs in marriage. That taught me not to be too harsh on myself or him. And to bestow grace,” the businesswoman continued, adding that she valued emotional independence.
“You never know what people – or even your significant other – are going through. I appreciate the same feeling,” explained the media personality. “You can’t depend on anyone else for your happiness. You have to be happy.”
In all honesty, the wife of the former Cleveland Cavaliers athlete emphasized that you can’t hope to make a meaningful place in someone else’s life unless you consider yourself the most valuable person in your life.
“It’s like I said before, you can’t be anything to anyone unless you’re everything to yourself first. And that goes for anyone in a relationship — your friends, parents, significant other, kids, anyone,” Savannah concluded.
The former Juice Shop owner’s words aren’t far from the truth about her relationship with LeBron. The entrepreneur recalled realizing the NBA star was the man for her and confessed it happened when the duo were still in high school.
The 36-year-old was a bit embarrassed to tell the “cheesy” story and claimed her heart started beating thanks to two special occasions for the Akron native. It started with the couple’s first date at Outback Steakhouse, where the furniture mogul took a meal home.
However, the Ohio native forgot about the takeout in the basketball player’s car and was contemplating what to do when the 19-time NBA All-Star came to her rescue. Recalling the sweet moment, Savannah said:
“He called me and said, ‘I got your food. I’ll come back and hand it in.’ And I’m like, ‘You want to see me again. Okay, bring my food.'”
The second time LeBron swept his wife off his feet came after a snowstorm canceled all school activities for the day. Instead of enjoying the free time alone, the 38-year-old called the celebrity to get ready for breakfast.
“I got on the phone and said, ‘Hello? I am sleeping.’ So I hung up. I jumped out of bed so fast. I was so excited,” the mother-of-three confessed. “As much as my body wanted to stay in this bed, my heart said, ‘No, we’re going to have breakfast.’ And we spent the whole day together.”

Although the couple tied the knot nine years ago, they’ve been together for around twenty years considering their relationship began in high school. LeBron kicked off the celebrations by sharing a stunning image from the couple’s Vanity Fair photoshoot.
“Queen. Happy anniversary,” gushed the Ohio Mr. Basketball winner, adding, “PS you’re so damn sexy! WOW.” Savannah echoed similar sentiments on her Instagram page with a lengthy message detailing her admiration for the Akron native.
“Nine years later (21), forever!! Cheers to us my love!! Happy Anniversary!! #JamesGang,” the entrepreneur wrote. In response to his wife’s tribute in the comments section, the 38-year-old wrote: “Cheers my QUEEN.”
