MyRise storyline reportedly scrapped in WWE 2K22 confirmed by former wrestler Bray Wyatt

Data mining is not really a new process. Determined modders and dataminers have been finding cut content in all types of games for decades. The inclusion of social media has just meant that these details are quickly being shared a lot more. Just weeks after launch, we already have details on edited content for WWE 2K22.

The wrestler, officially known as Bray Wyatt, was just one of over 100 employees laid off from the company since the COVID-19 shutdowns began. While several superstars such as Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and the wrestler formerly known as Nia Jax are present in the game, Bray is gone. As data miners have found, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t in the game at any given point in time.

Reddit user u/Pepsiguy2 made a post to explain a story from the game’s MyRise mode where Bray Wyatt’s darker personality known as The Fiend would possess Superstar Dana Brooke and your player character would then go on a quest would go to save her.

When an account on Twitter tried to say that this was a story for TV The wrestler took the time to correct them, confirming that voice lines were indeed recorded. While no costumes were found in these files, given the WWE 2K22 reward progression, this would likely have been a longer story, containing many attribute points and possibly some costumes related to The Fiend.
