The murder begins by talking about how he was branded by some, early in his career as the new Jack, to something that bothered him. Eventually, the two became close, and according to Homicide, their relationship would result in Homicide being pre-ordered on ECW before the promotion closed.
“All my life I was the new Jack and I hated it. I hated it so much,” Homicide said. “Back in 1997, I had a gig at the Jersey All-Pro and I wrestled with my friend Lowlife Louie. It was a difficult match. It was a really crazy match and I had a machete, and there was a reporter who was screaming, ‘Oh, you want to be the New Jack.’ I jumped over the guardrail with my machete and tried to cut him like Jason Vorhees. I was really mad, as if I didn’t want to hear that. I’m myself.
“Then I wrestled New Jack. God bless him, rest in peace, we became good friends. We never ate some kind of beef or anything. He took me under his wing. Many people didn’t know he was going to take me to ECW by the time it closed. We were supposed to be the New Gangstas and it all just went ‘boom!’ and fall off, you know? “
The killer best known for his runaways with Ring of Honor and TNA (Impact Wrestling) mid-2000s, where he was a member of LAX. He revealed to Roberts that he almost had a different trajectory after WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley watched one of his ROH matches.
“One day, I was fighting Colt Cabana in the Ring of Honor in New York City,” Homicide said. “Mick Foley was there and he dug it. He said, ‘Vince would love that. This is a number. You call John (Laurinaitis), ‘at the time (head of) talent relations,’ You call him. ‘ I had to choose between TNA and WWE at the time, so I chose TNA because of the trip. I’ve got kids and everything, and I’ve heard that WWE is in chaos with travel.
“I wanted something new and Konnan told me he had a new project called American Latin Xchange. It was myself and a guy named Apollo from Puerto Rico, so I chose it. So the first time I went to TNA was December 29, 2005, and the first thing I did was attack Bullet Bob Armstrong and Road Dogg, Jesse James.”
With Ring of Honor is temporarily shutting down After the end of 2021 and no return until April 2021, that means there won’t be a 20th anniversary for the ad, which was conceived in 2002. This is unfortunate for Homicide. who had wanted to witness a situation where many of the stars of ROH’s past reunited for a 20th Anniversary show.
“I’m sad that there won’t be a 20th anniversary,” Homicide said. “It will be stuck at 19 but it is what it is. I would love to see old school guys come to the 20th Anniversary Performance. I’d love to see Samoa Joe, if he’ll be allowed to, come. Perhaps CM Punk, with permission from All Elite Wrestling, could have attended the show. Great Red, SATs, all those people. That’s what it is. The world is crazy.”
