Mortal Online 2 calls the latest UE5 test “a huge success” and is preparing another PTR this week

Last week the FFA PvP sandbox Mortal Online 2 conducted its third Unreal Engine 5 upgrade test, with a focus on debugging its server to isolate a performance issue caused by a large-scale battle. This week is developer Star Vault announced victory in this battle.

The latest developer blog calls last week’s PTR round “a huge success” that helped the studio “locate many issues, fix bugs, and optimize multiple areas of the game to further improve performance.” Additionally, the changes to the game’s structure placement system also appear to have been well received by players. The studio reports a lot of positive feedback.

However, this doesn’t mean the UE5 upgrade is ready for prime time just yet: a fourth PTR test session will open sometime this week, which will also introduce some quality of life improvements to item collisions and archer AI behavior. A date and time for this test will be announced later, but for now Star Vault is inquiring about participants in last week’s test to fill out a questionnaire.
