Morning Show host Kylie Gillies shares ‘heartache’ in emotional family post: ‘So hard’
Kylie Gillies is one very proud mom watching her son reach an important milestone.
Gus, the eldest son of the “Morning Show” star, leaves the family nest and leaves Kylie with “heartache”.

Gus travels to Europe for the next 12 months, where the entire Gillies family takes him to the airport to say goodbye.
“You help them grow wings… and then they fly away ✈️,” Kylie began in an Instagram post.
“A parent’s proud moment. And also grief.
“Have a safe trip for the next 12 months, Gus.
“Have fun, learn a lot, make memories and if you don’t know us I swear I’ll be on the next flight to Europe. 😂 joke. Or am I? We love you❤️❤️❤️.”
Photos showed Kylie, her husband Tony and their younger son Archie hugging Gus goodbye and smiling together at the airport gate.
Kylie’s colleagues on Channel 7 responded to the comments, echoing her remarks about her growing children.
“Oh, I understand you!! We prepare them but forget to prepare ourselves. Sending you big hugs ❤️❤️,” said former Sunrise co-host Melissa Doyle.
Larry Emdur, co-host of Kylie’s The Morning Show, said: “What an incredible adventure @kyliegillies. If a boy goes, a man comes back x”.
“It would be so hard 😢 but he’s going to love it!” said news anchor Angela Cox.
Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr just commented with a sad face emoji, while The Morning Show’s official account commented on some love hearts.
Just days before Gus flew to Europe, the Gillies boys celebrated their goodbyes with a party at their family home.
Kylie shared some hilarious shots, including Gus and Archie behind the DJ decks, as well as a selfie with her husband Tony retiring to the balcony.
In other pictures, Kylie beamed as she held a large KFC delivery and prepared food for all the guests.
“Party at the Gillies🎵🎧🎶,” she began in the caption.
“Well, for our boys anyway.
“View slide 2 to see mom, dad and dogs take refuge on an upstairs bedroom balcony.
“And slide 3? This is what 250 KFC fillet pieces and 24 large chips look like. Not sponsored. I wish it was… these secret herbs and spices sure can go together 🤣 #It is worth it.”
