More details have surfaced in Kelvin Joseph about the Dallas Cowboys’ possible connection to the murder of Cameron Ray.
Dallas Cowboys sophomore cornerback Kelvin Joseph has a possible connection to a murder that happened in Dallas last month.
While Joseph is not a suspect in the ongoing investigation, the Dallas Police Department is trying to determine what happened in the tragic incident in which 20-year-old Cameron Ray lost his life last month.
The Cowboys released a statement Friday regarding Joseph’s “possible connection” to the ongoing murder investigation.
“The Dallas Cowboys are aware of the tragic incident that occurred in Dallas on March 18,” the Cowboys said in their official statement. “First and foremost, our hearts go out to Mr. Ray’s family and loved ones. The organization is aware of Kelvin Joseph’s possible connection to this incident. We are in contact with Dallas law enforcement and have notified the NFL office. We have no further comment at this time.”
On Saturday afternoon, the Dallas Police Department arrested Aries Jones, 28, and Tivione English, 21, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. These two have been identified as the shooters that led to Ray’s murder last month.
Joseph’s connection to the murder is that he was in the SUV where the shots were fired.
Investigations against Kelvin Joseph: More details emerge from the murder of Cameron Ray
Joseph was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. A Baton Rouge native, he first spent his freshman season with the LSU Tigers in 2018 before moving to Kentucky, where he played his final two years of college ball. After spending his first two months of the season at IR, Joseph finished his rookie season with 16 tackles and two pass breaks.
Joseph’s connection to this investigation stems from a necklace worn by one of the witnesses to the crime. The initials YKDV are part of Joseph’s rap moniker YKDV Bossman Fat. YKDV stands for You Know Da Vibe. Joseph is only considered a person of interest in this ongoing investigation as his attorney says he was only in the SUV from which the fatal shots were fired.
