Mohammed Sirai, Royal challengers Bangalore‘s Bowler stunned fans by breaking two barriers in a one-on-one duel in the final Chennai Super Kings at DY Patil Stadium on April 12.

Although RCB failed to win the game, Mohammed Siraj’s helicopter shot kept the fans entertained. MS Dhoni, who invented this shot, stood just behind the stumps for wicket-keeping. On Dwayne Bravo’s last ball, he delivered a full length ball and Mohammed Siraj smashed a four with his own version of the helicopter shot.

With the help of Shivam Dube’s undefeated 95 and Robin Uthappa’s 88, CSK reached 219/4.
RCB was reduced to 50/4 after their top scorer failed to add runs. But Shahbaz Ahmed’s 41 from 27 and debutant Suyash Prabhudessai’s 34 from 18 and Dinesh Karthik’s hasty 34 from 14 in form put up a tough fight for the Super Kings and helped the challengers reach 193 in 20 overs. CSK defeated them by 23 runs to claim their first victory in the 2022 IPL.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis commended the middle orders and tailenders for their efforts.
“Impressed by the way the boys debut at 5 or 6 and play like that just shows the depth of our bowling. Even though we lost, we were only 20 runs short overall, we should have gone off the rails and that’s impressive.”

RCB was unable to enlist the services of Harshal Patel, who had left the biobubble due to his sister’s death. RCB players wore black armbands to show their solidarity with Patel and his family.

“You see the value that (Harshal) brings not just to this team but to every team. He has the ability to really stop the game. We missed that tonight. We also lacked variety towards the end.”
“Big loss for us, hopefully we’ll have him back soon.”
