MLB The Show 22 will see Ballplayer’s return to the franchise. Users can create their own virtual baseball player and transfer that character between Road to the Show and as a Create-a-Player (CAP) in Diamond Dynasty. Ballplayer has been optimized for 2022 as users can now create multiple avatars and equip playfields with relative ease. But can users equip a ball player with the infamous Knuckleball?
Thanks to San Diego Studios, we have an answer to that question.
For offline play, MLB The Show 22 users can equip a created ball player for Road to the Show with a Knuckleball. In fact, San Diego Studios not only touted this during the feature premiere focused on Road to the Show on March 24, but also showcased a new and unique pitcher archetype. This archetype, titled “Knucksie,” combines pitch with ability. So, in Road to the Show, users can once again equip the Knuckleball with a ball player.
However, we must note that this baller archetype can only be used for the walk to the show. This archetype cannot be used for a ballplayer in Diamond Dynasty. Knuckleballs are known to be incredibly difficult to crack in both online and offline play, so it’s safe to say that this move is designed to keep Diamond Dynasty balanced.
