MLB has suspended 12 people involved in the major brawl between the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners.T

The Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners got into a huge fight early in their June 26 game. Jesse Winker was knocked down in the second inning by Andrew Wantz who threw near Julio Rodriguez’s head in the first inning which caused the Mariners outfielder to go to the Angels dugout and he threw hands to Anthony Rendon, to start the chaos. It was one of the wildest bank clearing incidents in some time and the penalties were handed over 24 hours later.

On Monday, June 27, MLB imposed suspensions on 12 people involved in the brawl. Angels interim manager Phil Nevin received the longest suspension of 10 games while Winker was handed seven games.

Below is the list of suspensions passed by the league courtesy of The Athletics Sam flower.

MLB bans Phil Nevin 10 games, Jesse Winker 7 games after Angels-Mariners brawl

Nevin received such a lengthy ban because Wantz deliberately shot at Winker while both teams were cautioned.

Rendon was banned for five games not only for the incident but also for leaving the dugout while on the injured list. The ban will be served once Rendon returns next year as he recently sustained a season-ending wrist injury. MLB also informed Rendon that he cannot be in the Los Angeles dugout for the team’s next seven contests.

In addition to Nevin, several Angels employees have been suspended. Assistant coach Dom Chiti received five games, major league interpreter Manny Del Campo received two games, bench coach Ray Montgomery received two games, and catch coach Bill Hasselman will miss one game. Nevin, Chiti and Del Campo will serve out their bans immediately, while Montgomery and Hasselman will begin their bans once Chiti returns.

The incident came a day after Mariners pitcher Erik Swanson vomited and found himself near the head of Angels star Mike Trout.

With the wild brawl ending, MLB investigated their penalties and turned them over to every person involved. MLB suspends 12 involved in chaotic Angels-Mariners brawl
