MLB International Signing Stage: Where top international prospects signed, including No. 1 Roderick Arias

The period during which baseball teams under the Baseball League can sign international free agents opened on Saturday. Amateur players can be purchased with MLB . Teams by one of two ways. Players born in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada will go through the draft phase. All other amateurs are available to be signed here during this international signing period.

This is where the five biggest names signed on Saturday.

Roderick Arias – Yankees

The Dominican is only 17 years old, but he has been on the radar of the international scouting community for years and is often seen as the top prospect in this class. He is an attacking player with five-tool superstar potential. If there’s one franchise player here, it’s Arias.

While most potential clients signing during this period are teenagers, Colas is only 23 years old. He is most famous for being called the “Ohtani of Cuba,” although he has since stopped pitching and focused on his off-field play. He hit .302 / .350 / .519 in 66 games in Japan in 2019.

William Bergolla – Phillies

The 17-year-old is said to have a high baseball IQ and great reach in front of the disc, including being known as a contact shooter.

Ricardo Cabrera – Red

Another teen run, Cabrera may end up having to move to third base, but that’s not a concern right now. He is arguably the best hitter in this entire class.

Cristhian Vaquero – National citizen

The National people seem to be very optimistic about the left-handed midfielder, as they have spent almost all the money on Vaquero. American Baseball ranks him as the top prospect in this class and we’ve seen the Nationals have great success with a left-wing midfielder during the international signing period earlier in the season.
