Michigan vs. Ohio State Prediction and Odds (latest trends point towards the end)

The Michigan Wolverines, up for grabs ahead of next week’s Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis, are looking to get the best out of their longtime rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, in Columbus this afternoon.

Michigan has been hot and cold in their last eight games, swapping wins and losses each time. Good news for the Michigan supporters is that they would be on the right side of this stretch today. Meanwhile, Ohio State rebounded from a brutal 78-70 home loss to Nebraska to defeat Michigan State by 11 points on Wednesday.

After Ohio State won Round 1 in Ann Arbor on Feb. 12, can the Buckeyes sweep the Wolverines and push them further down the Big Ten rankings?

Here are the latest Odds of Winning at WynnBET Sportsbook:

money line:

In total:

There has been a slight move lower with multiple consensus books now having that Big Ten matinee at 141.5 but I’ll still support that over here.

Both of these teams have been using just about every type of defensive presence lately. Michigan, which has already been an underperforming defensive unit this season, has a defensive rating above CBB Analytics of 113.7 in their last five games, which places the Wolverines in the second percentile of all teams in college basketball.

Even worse than the Wolverines? The Buckeyes, who have a 114.7 defense rating, are in the first percentile above their last five.

With the exception of the 71-62 win over Rutgers, Michigan has conceded 77, 93, 70 and 82 points in their recent games. Ohio State, meanwhile, has given up no less than 69 points in its last five.

I know rivalry games tend to be a bit harder and more physical, but neither of these two teams wants to play like that right now. Play the over as both teams attempt to up the tempo offensively.

SKINNY: OVER 142 (-110)
