Even if the Wolverines are paid $20 million a year, it is highly doubtful that Belichick will leave the New England Patriots.
Harbaugh is about to have his most successful year as a Michigan head coach. After a massive contract restructuring, the Wolverines beat the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time since 2011 and won their first Big Ten Championship Game by knocking out the Iowa Hawkeyes, helping them won the 2nd seed in the Playoff. But, the magic was over during the Orange Bowl, when they were beaten 34-11 by the #3 Georgia Bulldogs.
If there was ever a time to make the jump to the NFL, it seems to be now. Feldman mentions two teams in his report that could attract Harbaugh – the Las Vegas Raiders and the Chicago Bears. Harbaugh began his coaching career with the Raiders in 2002 as their quarterback coach. Meanwhile, the former Michigan quarterback was the one who was selected by the Bears in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft.
Additional reports are indicated that Harbaugh had told rookies he would “entertain” the NFL’s offers.
All Michigan fans can do in the meantime is wait for an official report or an announcement from Harbaugh himself on whether he will stay at Ann Arbor, or return to the NFL.
