Michael Blackson apologizes to Katt Williams after a joke sparked tension between them, Williams appears to be reacting

Fans of the comedy world are torn after the news that two of their biggest acts are at odds. Recently, comedian Michael Blackson found out one-sided beefs after starring with Katt Williams on the set of “Nick cannon: Presents Wild ‘N Out.” Both comedians have been on and off the show for over 15 years and are returning for an upcoming episode.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Sept. 14, Blackson revealed that the two had become annoyed with his comments on “Drink Champs” over the past year.

“Life is too short to get angry primarily with people you love. I love every comedian like a brother sometimes we say things about each other and it comes out wrong but we mean no harm,” he tweeted. “Katt Williams is still upset about something I said at Drink Champs last summer.”
“I thought I was paying a compliment, but most of my compliments come with a little roast for doing it,” the 49-year-old wrote. “Katt took it as an insult and I had no idea he was still mad until we caught up yesterday recording WildnOut7. None of the cast, including Nick, had any idea we were angry.”
The Couple’s Retreat star claims Williams came because of his throat on the improv competition series, while keeping his jokes light and funny.
“We ended up on opposite teams and all his jokes about me were insults to my career while I was trying to keep my jokes about him because of his height and perm,” he said. “I was trying to keep it fun so people wouldn’t know we had issues but that midget N—- kept going tough lol smh,” he wrote.
Blackson wants to “crush” things, citing their collaboration on films, series and comedy tours. He said: “Since you’re only 4ft 9in, I’m the taller person and I’m trying to crush that. We have known each other for over 25 years. We’re going back from the Friday movies, then repos to meeting black people, not to mention the few tours we’ve done together.”
Blackson ended his tirade by sharing that he settled matters with a personal comedic “Verzuz” fight, “or you can just fight my 15-year-old son.”
Williams has yet to respond verbally, other than re-sharing Blackson’s initial tweet on his Instagram story on Thursday, September 15.

After rewatching the interview and reflecting for a moment, Blackson apparently apologized for “smoking crack” Williams during the March 2021 interview.
“After Katt saw what I said in that interview, she had every right to be mad at me, it came out of my mouth wrong,” he explained. “I’ve never heard or seen him smoke crack, so what I’m trying to say is I don’t care if you think he smokes crack, he’s the loveliest comedian of our time.”
He continued his sentiments on Instagram, writing: “Today was the first time I’ve seen this interview on ‘Drink Champs’ and after watching it I felt guilty. Me and Katt were cool from day one so I’m sure he didn’t understand why I said something like that. As he’s only four feet tall I’ll keep it short and sweet my bad homie.”
About 42 minutes into the Drinks Champs interview, Blackson explains what it takes to be a “successful” comedian with a massive following on social media. He used his “Friday” co-star as an example of a “likable” comedian, but it didn’t come out the way he intended.
“Look at Katt Williams. Katt fought a 10-year-old kid, smoked crack, everything,” Blackson said at the time. “Katt is so personable and so loveable.”
Fans in the comments accepted Blackson’s apology, and many are hoping Williams will too. Most praised him for taking responsibility for how his words resonate with others as a comedian.
“I thought it was the crack remark…”
“Call him and apologize, Modasucka.”
“That was great of you to apologize to Michael! That’s why I rock with you! You’re a stand-up guy!”
“It takes a man to suppress his ego and pride and do that. Katt should appreciate that. salute to you brother. I get more respect for you.”
“It takes a big man to apologize and admit mistakes respect homie (pun intended) lol #respect.”
