Message Board Fan Thinks Texas’ Georgia Arch Manning Could Still Flip

Texas fans might be worried that Arch Manning might make a move to Georgia before January.
So you’re saying there’s a chance…?
Not to give you all the Lloyd Christmases, but it would be a very Mary Christmas in Athens if Arch Manning jumped from texas to georgia Though nobody in Dawg Nation is expecting it, there was an interesting post on a TexAgs messageboard about how things are going with college football’s chosen son. Here’s what a friend of a “well-connected” coach had to say about all of this…
Let’s just say Uncle Peyton doesn’t have time for Lane Kiffin and everything he’s doing at Ole Miss now.
“I’m just passing this along for entertainment. I’m not sure if everything is correct, but my coaching friend knows everyone in football. Ole Miss Booster named Archie [Manning] and offered $15 million for Arch. Archie told them Peyton [Manning] can’t stand Lane Kiffin because of his time in Tennessee. And that Peyton said he’d give Arch the $15 million so he wouldn’t go to Ole Miss.”
What does this have to do with Georgia, the school that took second place for Arch’s involvement?
Well… let’s go! Let the Big Dawg Eat!
“Georgia offered Arch $11 million and Eli [Manning] and Archie likes Georgia because of Matt Luke. Texas got Arch for $12 million. But the family say the recruitment really isn’t over yet. And if you remember, when Arch signed for Texas, Kirby Smart said something like, “This isn’t over yet.” This coach has given me solid information before. It could all be talk. But found it interesting. And if Arch falls over, that could be an interesting afterthought.”
It wasn’t until Manning signed his national memorandum of understanding on Early Signing Day that he was a Facebook official.
Message board posts suggest Texas’ Georgia Arch Manning could still turn around
I won’t lie, that’s always been in the back of every Georgia fan’s mind. While Dawg Nation is still a bit bitter about missing out on the Arch Manning Sweepstakes, the glee at the Peach State for Texas to screw it up is at an all-time high. It’s never that Manning didn’t choose Georgia, it was that he chose to commit to shaky Texas…
Kiffin might be a good match for Ole Miss, but it would be a cold day in hell before Uncle Peyton lets his nephew enjoy the finer things Oxford has to offer. While his Tennessee alma mater is in far worse shape than everyone involved, his deep paperbacks speak volumes. While we’re not naive enough to think there wasn’t a bidding war going on behind the scenes here, it’s a $1 million difference.
Georgia may have been outbid, but Uncle Eli and Grandpa Red’s connection to former Bulldogs offense coach Matt Luke is very real. He may have retired from the profession, but this man helped bring Ole Miss out of a very dark post-Hugh Freeze place. The well-known offensive line coach may have been just a stopgap as a bridge to Kiffin, but Luke is still held in high esteem.
Going into January, there are two big things to note regarding Manning for now. The first is whether Georgia decides to get in late in the rest of the 2023 cycle quarterbacks. It doesn’t seem likely, but the Dawgs usually add at least one four-star value every cycle. Brock Vandagriff will be a sophomore while Gunner Stockton is entering his freshman season.
The other and perhaps most intriguing wrinkle in all of this is how Texas plays. The Longhorns should be a bowl-caliber team in Steve Sarkisian’s second season at the helm. You don’t have to win the Big 12 to keep Manning, but anything but an 8-4 season and a top-four finish in the conference could make people seriously question whether Sarkisian is the man to run the team will continue.
No, Texas can’t possibly be stupid enough to fire Sarkisian after two seasons of Manning anxiously waiting to pen forever Hook ‘Em Horns. However, if Texas is an absolute disaster like it was a year ago, how can the Mannings seriously think that feeding Arch to the wolves and sending him to a college program run by Monkey Business is a good idea is defined?
Sarkisian would have to flip Burger before Manning flips to Georgia to take on Texas.
