Member of the homeless population killed by alligator: daughter breaks her silence

The daughter of the woman whose body was found in the mouth of a 13-foot alligator in Largo, Florida, is remembering her mother and paying tribute to the person she called “kind to everyone.”
Breauna Dorris shared some information about the tragic incident that killed her mother and has started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs.
13-foot alligator found with woman’s body in mouth

While it was reported that the alligator was seen with a lifeless body in its mouth, there are many rumors about what happened. Dorris wanted to put an end to the rumors with the information she knew, so she did Facebook.
“The last 24 hours have been filled with sadness and unbearable pain for our family. I’m posting this to put an end to the rumors and to ask everyone for help,” she wrote. “My mother, Sabrina Peckham, was a victim of the alligator attack in McCay Creek (Rainbow Village). Please understand that we do not yet have all the information as the coroner’s report is not yet ready.”
She further explained that her mother did not “mock” the alligator, as some say. Peckham was among the homeless population living in a nearby wooded area not far from the water.
“It is believed she was walking to or from her campsite near the creek in the dark and the alligator attacked from the water,” she continued. “Please don’t talk about things you don’t know. No matter how you put it, no one deserves to die like that.”
Another Facebook post shares information about a memorial being set up for Peckham so that friends and family can leave flowers and balloons in memory.
A vigil is planned for this Friday at 6 p.m. at the 134th Avenue and 121st Street bridge WFTS TV.
A GoFundMe page has been set up

Dorris also wrote about it in her Facebook post GoFundMe The family organized a fundraiser to raise money for her funeral.
“We will use the funds raised by GoFundMe to lay my mother to rest in our family plot,” she wrote. “As my mother is only 41, we didn’t expect to do something like this soon. We expected to have many, many more years with her.”
In the description on the fundraising page, Dorris explains that the family has not made any funeral or dying arrangements.
“Hello, my name is Breauna Dorris and I am raising funds for the sudden, tragic loss of my mother, Sabrina Peckham. Sabrina died suddenly after being attacked by a 13-foot alligator. “Sabrina was loved by many and we expected many, many more years with her,” the description reads.
“Our family is in shambles trying to cope with such a loss. No funeral or dying arrangements had been made for Sabrina, who was only 41 at the time and homeless. We will use the funds raised to cover cremation costs and bury her in our family plot.”
As of Tuesday evening, more than 370 people had donated more than $12,000, exceeding their $10,000 goal. Many also left their condolences in the comments section.
