A Tennessee mother is accused of being a fairly common sex abuser of teenage boys. A grand jury in McMinn County, Tennessee, indicted Melissa A. Blair38 years old, with charges including aggravated statutory rape, according to to the sheriff Joe Guy.
She allegedly contacted nine teenage boys on social media and gave them items in exchange for what officials described as “sex.” Guy expressed concern there could be more victims.
“Current allegations involve nine confirmed juvenile male victims, related to incidents that occurred between the spring of 2020 and the end of 2021,” Guy said. “Seven of the victims are still minors. 2 victims are minors but are now adults. We suspect there may be additional juvenile victims and we encourage them or their parents to contact us. There may be other victims who are now adults, and we encourage them to contact us as well. It appears that Ms Blair communicated with the minors on social media, arranging meetings with them and selling items in order to have sex with them. “
The mother of one of the boys said that, according to her son, Blair provided items including vape pens.
“People mostly focus on the culprit,” she said WSYR. ‘They don’t realize how devastating it is to a family. How are families at home, and we don’t know what to do next. I don’t know how to proceed with this. ”
Officials speak that Blair never worked for the school, but her son did take classes there before transferring schools. She was also a member of the booster club.
The sheriff’s office received a referral from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services on December 9 alleging that Blair had sex with male students at McMinn Central High School, Guy said.
McMinn County School Superintendent Lee Parkison said someone also left an anonymous note in his office.
“Without them, this could still have happened,” he said, according to News Nation Now.
Blair was charged with 18 counts of aggravated rape, four counts of human trafficking by sponsoring prostitution, and one count of solicitation of a minor.
