“We currently have one team on a job in York Street, Bonbeach where water is entering the house through the ceiling and then causing flooding on a property on the Nepean Highway in Aspendale and we understand there may be more could come,” the Chelsea SES Unit posted on its Facebook page.

“The rain has also made it difficult to see on the roads, which are also quite slippery. So please drive according to the conditions and as always, please do not drive through flood water.”

Several cars were also stuck in the water in Frankston, Chelsea and also under the York Street Bridge in South Melbourne.
