Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has reportedly become “obsessed” with one thing following an incident involving Catherine, now the Princess of Wales.
In the book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Crown, author Valentine Low alleges that after a reported disagreement with Kate over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress in 2018, Meghan was desperate to correct the records.

It was previously reported that Kate “broke down in tears” after clashing with Meghan during the bridesmaids’ fitting.
But memorably, in her controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan claimed that the exact opposite was true – and that it was Kate who made her cry.
“The truth is that after the dress fitting, Meghan became obsessed with convincing the palace press office to publish something denying the story,” Low claims in the book, according to the Sun.
“However, they (the palace) equally insisted that it would be a grave error to begin teaching personal stories surrounding differences between members of the royal family.”
“Not only did they not want to take action against other royals, they feared it would set a precedent and make it harder for them not to comment on personal gossip in the future.
“It would also fan the flames of the story and ensure it fills the pages of newspapers for several more days to come.”
“This became a major point of contention between Meghan and her media advisors.”
Low’s book is set to be released on October 6, just days after Meghan and her husband Prince Harry posted a new portrait of themselves.
The picture, taken before the Queen’s death at the One Young World summit in Manchester, UK, shows Meghan in a red pantsuit, looking straight at the camera with a slight smile on her lips.
Harry stands next to her – also with a slight smile – while he loosely clutches her fingers.
A second image of the couple is captured in black and white and shows them “moments” before the opening ceremony, gazing at the audience and holding hands again.
The pictures were taken by famous photographer Misan Harriman, who is a friend of the couple.
“A portrait of love and power,” one fan explained on Twitter.
“Power to change, power to inspire, power to love.
“I mean look at Meghan’s face; She is gorgeous. And Harry’s soft blue eyes and Diana-like smile. And their fingers that cling together are bound forever.”
The release of the portraits came after experts suspected the latest photo of King Charles offered a big clue about the future of the monarchy.
The official photo, taken on September 18 by Getty photographer Chris Jackson, shows a relaxed Charles posing with his hand in his pocket and his arm around Camilla.
Meanwhile, Kate has her arm around William’s back and all four royals smile casually for the camera.
Commenters addressed the “unspoken elephant in the room” – the absence of Harry and Meghan.
Editor Richard Kay, writing for the Daily Mail, suggested the image was a “not-so-subtle nod” to Charles’ desire for a “slimmed-down monarchy”.
“It certainly can’t be a coincidence that the picture was taken while (Harry and Meghan) were still in the UK and a few days before they returned home to their children Archie and Lilibet,” Kay wrote.
“It must therefore be another signal that they will never return to their central role in royal life.
“There is a finality to this photo that suggests there is no going back for a couple who could have been at the epicenter of royalty but are now on the fringes,” he added.
