The humorous power couple promises to be “a little noisy” at the awards ceremony on March 6.
“Make it” works! After last year’s virtual Film Independent Spirit Award ceremony, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman is scheduled to in-person co-host the 2022 awards ceremony in Santa Monica on Sunday, March 6.
“We are very excited to host the Movie 2022 Independent Spirit Award. We expect there to be a bit of noise, but it will mostly be legitimate cinematic discourse,” the humorous power couple said in a press statement. “Although, if the two of us are involved, it’s more likely to be intercourse. Either way it will be legal. ”
Emmy Award winner Mullally and “Pam & Tommy” star Offerman have toured the US and UK with the joint comedy show “Summer of 69: No Apostrophe” and released a best-selling book on The New York Times, “The Greatest Love Story Ever Told.”
Independent Film Studios president Josh Welsh called Mullally and Offerman the “dream team” to organize. “Why only have one server when you can have two? We’re excited to have Megan and Nick join us to bring the magic back to the beach,” Welsh said. “I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!”
IFC General Manager Blake Callaway added, “The Spirit Awards are back. After a year away, it’s exciting to be back at the beach, live and in person with this breathtaking duo. Megan and Nick will make this year and this will stop on the awards calendar to remember. ”
The 37th Independent Spirit Film Awards are traditionally held the week before the Oscars. However, 2022 marks a change in awards season, with the Spirit Awards leading the way in the Oscars vote, with the Academy’s final vote starting March 17.
