MechWarrior Online adds more legendary mechs and gear optimizations in the latest update

This Tuesday, September 19th, will see the launch of another bunch of updates to the team-based mech PvP fighter MechWarrior Online, and much of this update follows the same path as previous content patches. Or maybe we should say, “Stomp on the same ground while destroying buildings,” considering these are multi-story robots.

This patch introduces three more Legendary ‘Mechs: the Warlord Atlas, the Hashke Urbanmech IIC, and the Abbadon Urbanmech IIC. All three of these new Legendary Chassis feature further breakdowns of their hardpoints, stats, weapons, and quirks. Speaking of weapons and quirks, the patch will also include further balancing of these features, along with more targeted optimizations to various mechs in the game’s existing roster.

In tangential news, MWO Developer Piranha Games has announced a new standalone single player game takes place in the BattleTech universe called MechWarrior 5: Clans. As the title suggests, players will take on the role of a mech squad from the Smoke Jaguar clan in this upcoming new game the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere. Details are scant at the moment, but the game is planning for a 2024 release and is Available on Steam to Wishlist. There is also a teaser trailer below.
