Max Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly sparks controversy with subtle swipe at Sergio Perez after Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Kelly Piquet, Max Verstappen’s girlfriend, has made headlines with a subtle jab at Sergio Perez after his victory at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
It was predicted that the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix should have ended in a Red Bull 1-2. But behind the scenes there was enough to talk about. Starting from P15, Red Bull’s Dutch World Champion Max Verstappen was second.
Climbing the ladder, on the other hand, was a problem he overcame on the 25th lap. For the remainder of the race, Max Verstappen’s number one goal was to chase down teammate Sergio Perez. The Dutchman Perez couldn’t steal the victory, but he fought for the most points until the end. Verstappen’s friend Kelly Piquet applauded Verstappen’s efforts to dig into the Red Bull turmoil.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez
It’s no secret that Red Bull favors Verstappen at every opportunity. The Dutchman is clearly the team’s number one and Perez regularly bears the brunt, such as in Brazil 2022. There has been significant friction between the two drivers since the incident in Brazil.

There hasn’t been any apparent falling out between them since then, but there are warning signs things could be coming to an end soon. Desperate for an extra point, Verstappen stole the fastest lap from Perez on the final lap of the race. When that is combined with Jos Verstappen’s reaction to Perez’s win, one can predict a mess to come.
What did Max Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet say?
Kelly Piquet, Verstappen’s girlfriend, also chimed in with an Instagram Story post applauding her boyfriend’s race. “What a ride,” she wrote. “And grab the fastest lap,” she added in smaller text.

The Brazilian model used the post to deliver a veiled jab to Sergio Perez, who is currently Verstappen’s only rival. Although few believe that the Mexican driver poses a serious threat.
Tom Coronel summarized why he poses no danger to Verstappen in his analysis video on Viaplay: “You only have a chance of pole if Verstappen fails. Let’s be real for a moment: it’s all about race pace. You do fifty laps and the pace of the race is managing your tires and checking how you use them. We know Pérez is not the strongest at that.”
The Mexican may have championship ambitions but he needs to prove many people wrong and improve his game significantly.
