Max Verstappen has expressed concern ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix and believes it will be difficult for Red Bull to defeat the Maranello-based Ferrari team in Budapest.
Max Verstappen was able to drive away from France with maximum points and has built up a 63-point lead over the Ferrari starlet thanks to Charles Leclerc’s unfortunate fall.
The upcoming race could potentially prove to be one of the most challenging for the Red Bull team and Verstappen himself has admitted the Hungaroring’s twisty nature could prove a difficult task for the RB18.
The Red Bull driver believes it will be difficult for him to face Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in this Sunday’s race. In addition, the F1-75 looks really sharp since Canada and was able to drag with the RB18.
The only downside for the red-blooded team is that while the car is fast, it is Max Verstappen who scores the most points. The Dutchman believes if the Ferrari team can keep their reliability issues under control they could easily win the Hungarian Grand Prix and go to a 1-2 finish.

Max Verstappen is not optimistic about his chances in Hungary
“They have so much downforce that they’re even faster when they slide back and forth.”
In France, Ferrari performed much better than Red Bull in the twisty sections of the track and that gives Max Verstappen pre-race nightmares.
However, Sainz and Leclerc were also seen skidding on the curvy parts of the track and the skidding caused Charles Leclerc to crash into the barriers, but despite the incident Verstappen believes it would be difficult for Red Bull to beat Ferrari.
The Hungaroring is one of the twistiest circuits on the 2022 Formula 1 calendar and has only one “real” straight where top speed matters.
Verstappen believes: “In Budapest they will overwhelm us.”
Furthermore, Ferrari’s team boss Mattia Binotto is also aware of the fact and has his sights set on a 1-2 finish for the Ferrari F1 team.
