Max Scherzer’s Mets Contract Includes Crazy Deals

The New York Mets and Steve Cohen went above and beyond to make sure they landed star pitcher Max Scherzer.
People all over the Queens are still excited to know that one of the best hurdlers is on his way to Citi Field. After Noah Syndergaard forced the town to sign the Los Angeles Angels, the club replaced him in the rotation with the stud pitcher Max Scherzer.
This season, New York Mets Owner Steve Cohen has made it more clear that he’s willing to spend big to try and attract the best talent. Well, this is definitely the case for Scherzer, as MLB insider Ken Rosenthal provided more details on his three-year contract.
Signing Max Scherzer with Mets Includes Some Turnaround Incentives
Not only did Scherzer bring in $130 million over three seasons, but the club lured him in with four senior seats per competition in Flushing. Not bad. Oh and on top of that, the offers for Scherzer are pretty wild. The list includes $200,000 if he wins MVP, $200,000 for NL Cy Young, $150,000 for MVP World Series and more.
If you ask Mets fans, they want nothing more than Scherzer winning his World Series MVP award. New York has high hopes for glory this past season and things are going well at the start of the campaign.
However, things then turned upside down and the Mets didn’t even make a splash after the season. It was a big disappointment, as the fans put high hopes on the team. Wishing, however, Cohen was ready to put the past behind and focus on bringing this club back to the elite level.
The Mets made it quite clear when they signed Scherzer. Now, everyone will hope that he can live up to everything.
