Mauricio Pochettino breaks silence on Man United rumors

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacked by Manchester United on Sunday, rumors have swirled that PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino will leave the French capital to return to the Premier League and take over at Old Trafford.

Unsurprisingly, the Argentinian strategist was asked about the possibility of leaving PSG to move into the management of the Red Devils and he quickly put those rumors to bed. Via Fabrizio Romano:

“I am happy in Paris. I know the city well as a player and as a coach, I have always lived in that situation. Everything that happens is not my responsibility. What I will say if you ask me is that I am happy to be in Paris. ”

It sounds like he has no intention of leaving PSG right now. However, United are looking for an interim coach to keep the fort in place until the end of the campaign, where they can hire a full-time boss like Pochettino or Leicester City gaffer Brendan Rodgers.

It’s really no surprise that Pochettino is satisfied with his current situation. PSG are flying high this term, with 11 points behind the top of the Ligue table and also in the highest position to advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

However, the opportunity to coach a club of the caliber of United would be difficult to pass up. We don’t know what the future holds for Pochettino, but it’s safe to say he won’t make any mid-season changes from France to England.
