Matt Araiza’s Attorney Claims the Buffalo Bills Didn’t Know Before Draft Day
“I did an interview on Channel 8 San Diego last night and the last question the host asked me was related to this topic,” Armstrong told FanSided on Friday afternoon. I replied something along the lines of “You better believe it” (ie that Araiza told the bills about these allegations before they were drafted). I didn’t realize until this morning when I looked at it that I obviously misunderstood the question. Araiza had no idea about the allegations at the time of drafting in late April this year. In fact, he only found out about it when the first LA Times article came out a few weeks ago. And then he kept me. From what I understand, Araiza then informed the Bills of these allegations in late July or early August this year.”
Araiza was spotted training on Friday, much to the dismay of NFL Twitter.
The team made a statement in writing on the matter: “We were recently made aware of a civil complaint filed against Matt in October 2021. Due to the seriousness of the complaint, we have thoroughly investigated this matter. As this is an ongoing civil proceeding, we will not comment further at this point.”
This is an ongoing story and will be updated as more news is uncovered.
