MLB Opening Day is back and we are nearing Opening Day. This is what the opening day and pitching matchups will look like.
baseball is back The 162-game season will return after a 99-day lockout, the second-longest suspension in baseball history. The 2022 season will start a week later than usual and missed games will be made up later in the season.
The lockout pushed back the original spring training start date pending a collective bargaining agreement. Players should report for spring training on March 14th, and spring training currently runs through April 4th.
MLB Opening Day begins April 7, with the first game of the season being a matchup against the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. Nine games are scheduled for Opening Day, and by April 8, all 30 MLB teams would have played their first game of the 2022 season.
