BALTIMORE (WJZ) – A Maryland dentist was arrested at his dental practice for allegedly facilitating the death of a young woman who was a former patient, one-time employee, and lover of his. him, according to authorities.
James Ryan, an experienced oral surgeon on Observation Drive in Germantown, was arrested on the morning of March 22 and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Sarah Harris, 25, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. .

He faces multiple felony charges, police said.
Harris is a former patient of Ryan who began working as a surgical technician in October 2021, police said.
Harris and Ryan began a romantic relationship around January 2021 while Harris was employed in Ryan’s practice room, according to authorities.
Police say the two of them lived together at Ryan’s home in Clarksburg. Their relationship continued until Harris died of a fatal drug overdose on January 26, authorities said.

Police allege that Ryan provided controlled substances, including Propofol, Ketamine, Diasepam and midazolam, to Harris before her death.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department arrested Ryan following an extensive investigation.
According to authorities, he is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without bond.
Police said the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network assisted with the investigation.
