Marvel’s Avengers continues to struggle with crashes on the PlayStation 5 version of the game. After receiving reports of the issue, the Crystal Dynamics development team said on the game’s Twitter account that they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix. Until then, however, they have a rather bizarre workaround that requires you to restart your entire campaign progress.
The Marvel’s Avengers Twitter account shared, “Go to Operations and reset your Reassemble campaign progress. Once you become young Kamala on A-Day, force close the game on the PS home screen, then you should be able to launch the Avengers Initiative.
Crystal Dynamics didn’t clarify if this would affect the progression of any characters players have built since the game originally launched, or if players would just have to replay the single-player campaign. For those in no hurry to resolve this issue, Crystal has said that hopefully there will be a fix within 24 hours.
Though Marvel’s Avengers hasn’t received any major updates since Spider-Man came out last year, there still appears to be a planned future for the live service title. SHIELD director Nick Fury recently made an appearance alongside some changes to the in-game card table. There’s no roadmap for 2022 yet on what fans of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can expect, but hopefully we’ll learn something soon as the future of Marvel’s Avengers currently hangs in the balance.
