Martin Truex Jr. said he wanted to recover COTA after the disappointing run of his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 Toyota on the wet track in the middle of a torrential downpour last year where he crashed. He added that he hopes to perform better in COTA as no rain delay is predicted.

“We are delighted to be returning to COTA. We didn’t run well there last year, so I want to show that we’re better than we ran before the crash knocked us out,” said Martin Truex Jr.

“No rain is forecast for this weekend so we should be able to put on a much better show than last season with all the rain and visibility issues. I look forward to it. I think it should be a fun race,” added Martin Truex Jr.
