Here’s hoping that two bad teams can have a good game tonight when the worst that Conference USA has to offer is on full display.
The Marshall Thundering Herd is 10-17 overall and 3-11 in the conference after a pretty strong start to the season. Meanwhile, Miss South’s Golden Eagles team is 6-20 and has only one win in 13 games in games C-USA.
They didn’t have a strong start to the season. Either way, you’ll see, these are the two worst teams in the conference and both sit at the bottom of their respective tables. Here are the odds for this showdown of the C-USA basement dwellers, with support from WynnBET Sportsbook.
Total: 151.5 (Above -110/Under -110)
Marshall has a very important advantage in tonight’s game against Miss South. The Herd does have an offense, and one that doesn’t rank outside of the top 300 national teams.
In fact, for all their wins/losses, Thundering Herd’s scoring rate is 84th nationally at 73.6 points per game. Marshall is also an above average bouncer and gets a lot of saved shots.
On the other hand, South Mississippi didn’t really do much of a good job. It ranks 340th nationally for goalscoring in attack and 308th in defense. The Golden Eagles are also one of the worst free-kicks in the country and have not committed any fouls with an average of 14.3 shots per game. That ranks them 346th.
I think the spread for Marshall here is very favorable against a team that is only underrated by the hosts 2-5 ATS and 9-15 ATS overall.
Pick: Marshall -6 (-110)
