Marlon Wayans jokes about being the baby of the family and bearing the brunt of his brothers’ ‘abusive jokes’

Marlon Wayans has been in the business of making audiences laugh for 30 years, but he’s still the butt of countless jokes when it comes to his family.

In Hollywood, the Wayans family is undeniably comedic royalty. With careers dating back to the early ’80s, there’s almost no facet of comedy that hasn’t influenced family. Marlon, 49, has credited his older brothers Keenan and Long Damon Wayan pioneering the family in the entertainment industry, whether it be stand-up comedy or work in film and television.

But while the youngest of the brood of 10 has made a name for himself outside of his famous siblings, he has yet to outgrow the little brother whose big brothers love to smack him with satire.

While promoting his June 25 comedy show in Houston, the ‘Senseless’ star shared that he and Damon both happened to be in town to perform. To his surprise, or maybe not, Wayans said his older brother didn’t have an enthusiastic reaction to the two headlining sets.

“He’s like, ‘Why are you trying to take over my ticket sales?’ ‘ Wayans told 97.9 radio personality G-Man. The Sextuplets actor said he even offered to open for his big brother but was closed.

“No ugly. I don’t want you to look ugly on stage. You stay right where you are and let those people see your ugly butt at your show at the Bayou Music Center,” he said in his best impersonation of the creator and star of My Wife and Kids. “He’s just so evil,” he continued to joke about Damon.

Speaking again about taking the brunt of his brothers’ comedic punches, Marlon said, “He loves me but I don’t think Damon likes me too much because I was my mother’s baby. I don’t think any of them like me because I was my mom’s baby and got all the hugs,” Marlon told Majic 102.1 FM disc jockey Larry “Uncle Funky” Jones.

“Damon was a joke that offended me, him, and Shawn and Keenan,” he continued. “They had me at the Oscars in a little suit and they all looked great — they like to abuse the little brother.” Marlon previously opened up about the public blunder, saying that the televised moment that actually took place at the Emmys hurts him to this day.

Though he’s put up with the jokes, snide remarks and more from his brothers, it’s not lost on Marlon that his day of comedic redemption is on the horizon. “I’ll save that for when they’re too old to retaliate.” Marlon Wayans jokes about being the baby of the family and bearing the brunt of his brothers’ ‘abusive jokes’
