Marlon Moraes vs Song Yadong in UFC event on March 12

One-time bantamweight title challenger Marlon Moraes seems back on track as he gets back into action against Song Yadong in a bout scheduled to take place at the upcoming UFC event scheduled for March 12.

Multiple sources confirmed the MMA Fighting match on Monday with verbal agreements from both athletes. MMA Junkie initially reported seizures.

Once heralded as the future 135-pound champion, Moraes has recently fallen on hard times 1-4 in his past five games, including three in a row. Most recently, Moraes engaged in a war with Merab Dvalishvili before finally succumbing to strikes in the second round at UFC 266 in September.

Now, Moraes will look to return to her victories while facing one of the top 135-pound prospects in the UFC.

Song is currently standing at 7-1-1 in his UFC career with consecutive victories Julio Arce and Casey Kenney in his most recent appearances.

The 24-year-old boxer from China trains from Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California, where he works under longtime training Urijah Faber. The upcoming fight against Moraes will be his biggest test to date as Song looks set to graduate from potential candidate to candidate.

While the UFC has not officially announced the cards, the light heavyweights Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev are expected to meet in the main event.
